KIP Principles

KIP places great importance on developing the personal qualities necessary for responsible members of society — such as courtesy toward others, respect for others, and gratitude in attitude. Therefore, membership is open to those who agree to the following three principles;
① Prompt Attendance Responses
Members are required to report their attendance for each activity by the specified deadline.
Timely communication is the first step toward building trust and demonstrates consideration and empathy, fundamental to smooth human relationships both within KIP and in society.
② No Last-Minute or Unnotified Cancellations
Cancellations without prior notice or made at the last minute after confirming participation are strictly prohibited. In the case of illness or unavoidable circumstances, please contact and consult the organizers as early as possible. Advance notice allows guest speakers and organizers to adjust preparations, ensuring a better experience for all participants.
③ Submission of Post-Activity Reports
All members must submit a report after each activity. Writing a report in your own words helps organize your thoughts, deepen understanding, and strengthen your ability to express ideas clearly to others. It also serves as an expression of gratitude to the speakers who support KIP’s activities, as well as valuable feedback for improving future programs.

Q&A

Q1. What kind of people participate?

Participants range from high school to graduate students, as well as working professionals from various fields, both humanities and sciences, creating a diverse environment.

No. Leadership and organizational activities are conducted by students from first-year undergraduates to graduate students who wish to develop leadership skills or engage in intellectual volunteering, together with senior working professionals.

We invite a wide variety of experts; ambassadors, journalists, doctors, researchers, business professionals, artists, and more.
Because KIP is a membership-based organization, participants have the rare opportunity to hear insightful talks that are not open to the general public.
Recently, some KIP professional members have also served as speakers, sharing expertise from their own fields.

Membership is open year-round. While KIP hosts welcome events in spring and autumn, you can apply to join anytime.

At KIP, one of our mottos is to build this community together.
This means that all members take part in simple operational or organizational tasks alongside the management committee, creating the activities together rather than only attending them.

Approximately 40% male and 60% female.
Around 60% of members are from the humanities and 40% from the sciences.

Not at all. However, we strongly recommend attending the forums regularly.
By repeatedly engaging in lectures, Q&A sessions, and discussions with experts, members naturally develop logical thinking and communication skills through hands-on experiential learning.

No. Members are located across Japan, in regions such as Kansai, Sendai, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Nagano, and some even overseas. Some occasionally travel to Tokyo for in-person participation, but most join online.
